A Message from the Board President:
In January the President of our Board received a letter from a resident thanking him for his message in Librafax, “As the world changes around us, let
this place be your refuge, …” The patron went on to say how her family has always felt welcome here, that they have always been delighted with our
resources, and that we have a uniformly excellent staff. We couldn’t agree more!
The East Islip Public Library Board of Trustees are pleased to present for your consideration the proposed 2017-2018 operating budget. The Board
remains committed to maintaining the highest quality library service that you have come to expect from us and this proposal reflects that commitment.
This proposed budget is estimated to increase taxes by 1.25%. For the average household in our community, this translates into an increase of approximately
$5.30 for the entire year. This is one of the lowest increases we have ever presented, but still includes additional funding for programs and services.
And, as we have done since its’ inception, this proposed budget is below the state mandated tax cap.
We thank you for your continued support and ask that you come to your/our library and vote on Tuesday, April 4th. Thank you!
*Our Library board meetings are held once a month, the first Thursday of the month, at 5:30 p.m. The public are welcome. Please check our Library newsletter, the LIBRAFAX, to confirm the exact date and time.
